Located in the city of Hitachi, Ibaraki Prefecture, 西坂神社 is a historic Shinto shrine that dates back to the Edo period (1603-1868). The shrine is dedicated to the kami of rice, prosperity, and good fortune. Its traditional architecture features a square main hall with a tiled roof and a vermilion gate. Visitors can offer prayers at the shrine's torii gate and make offerings to the kami at the shrine's temizuya.

Cultural notes
西坂神社 is associated with the rice-protecting kami of Ryuzu-no-kami. The shrine is also famous for its unique festival, the Tsukimairi, which takes place in December and features traditional dances and offerings to Ryuzu-no-kami.
