Located in Hyogo Prefecture, San-sha-jinja Shrine is a Shinto temple dedicated to the Three-Godnesses of ancient Japanese mythology. Its main deity is Susanoo-no-Mikoto, while it also enshrines the other two goddesses of creation and fertility, Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi's consort Osumi no kami. The shrine's architecture reflects a mix of Nara and Heian periods' styles, featuring a large torii gate and wooden structures.

Cultural notes
The shrine is famous for its beautiful cherry blossom trees and historic festivals such as the San-no-ha matsuri, which celebrates the legend of Susanoo's battle against his sister Amaterasu. In addition, it holds a sacred ritual called 'Omisoka' on New Year's Eve to purify and bring good luck.
Historical note
The shrine was founded in 1292 during the Kamakura period, as part of a larger complex of shrines and temples built to venerate Susanoo-no-Mikoto.
