Ancient Kemmei Shrine, located in the heart of Hakone, is dedicated to the Shinto deity Inari Okami, patron of rice, fertility, and prosperity. The shrine's name 'Kempeitaisan' literally translates to 'Old Path Shrine.' Founded during the Nara period (710-794 CE), it is one of the oldest shrines in Japan. Visitors can explore the 300-step path leading to the main shrine, which offers breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji on a clear day.
