Visitor tip
Visitors can purchase traditional rice paper bags (emaki) to carry rice offerings to the shrine's shrines, a practice that is meant to bring good luck and prosperity to the individual making the offering.
Cultural notes
Inari Okami is also associated with fertility and prosperity in Shinto mythology. During the annual Inari Matsuri festival, which takes place on May 3rd, the shrine hosts a large procession of people carrying rice paper bags attached to their hands, symbolizing the connection between humans and nature.
