Cultural notes
Suigūjinsha Shrine is associated with the mythological figure of Ryujin, the Dragon God of the Sea. During the annual 'Fune Saisen' festival in October, visitors can watch a reenactment of a boat-finding ritual to ensure safe passage and a bountiful catch.
Historical note
The current shrine was rebuilt in 1963, but its origins date back to the Edo period (1603-1867).
