Located in the city of Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture, Eight Horses Temple Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine dedicated to the worship of Amaterasu Ōmikami, the sun goddess. Dating back to 1553, the shrine has been rebuilt several times due to wars and natural disasters, with its current structure dating back to the Heian period. Visitors can explore the shrine's tranquil gardens, which feature a large stone statue of the Eight Horses (Hachiman), believed to be the horse of Amaterasu's chariot.
