This shrine connects with Shinto folklore surrounding the legend of Sukuna-hikoboshi, a kami believed to ride on horseback across the Milky Way on autumnal evenings, searching for his beloved. Visitors can also participate in the autumnal festival, which includes a ritual procession to honor the deity.
