The Eight-Horned Shrine, located in Chiba Prefecture's Kamakura City, is dedicated to the Shinto deity Amaterasu Omikami. Its name reflects its association with the legendary eight Hōjin (holy spirits) of Japan. The shrine was originally built in 1629 during the Edo period and rebuilt in 1892 after a fire. Its distinctive architecture features an octagonal torii gate, a rare design element found at only a few Shinto shrines nationwide.
