Shiomigahara Shrine, located in the city of Akashi in Hyogo Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the kami of the rice fields and the town's prosperity. The shrine's name refers to the nearby Shiomigahara River. The shrine's architecture reflects traditional Japanese design, with a wooden torii gate and a tiled roof. It is believed to have been established during the Heian period (794-1185 CE).

Visitor tip
Visitors can purchase sake at the shrine's gift shop, but it is recommended to do so after making an offering to the kami to purify the drink.
