Cultural notes

Inari Taisha is famous for its thousands of fox statues, believed to be messengers of Inari Okami. The shrine's unique tradition is the offering of yellow paper tokens with prayers written on them, which are then hung from the gates and trees. Visitors can participate in this ritual by writing their prayers on a token and hanging it.

Historical note

Built during the Edo period, the current structure dates back to the 17th century.
