Cultural notes
Eight Clouds Shrine is often associated with the myth of the storm god Susanoo-no-Mikoto, who was said to have created the clouds by striking his sword against a rock. The shrine's location in a mountainous area makes it an ideal place for Shinto rituals and prayers.
Historical note
The shrine was founded in 1594 during the Sengoku period, making it one of the oldest shrines in Saitama Prefecture.
