Otsukimi Shrine is associated with the Shinto god of good fortune and prosperity, Otsukimi no kami. The shrine is also famous for its 'good luck' coin toss ceremony, where visitors pay 1 yen to toss coins into a sacred well for a wish.

Historical note

The shrine was built in 1763 by Tokugawa Ienobu, the fifth son of Tokugawa Iemochi, as a humble family shrine.
