Located in the town of Katsuta, Shiga Prefecture, Hieizan Grand Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the worship of the sea god and patron deity of merchants and sailors. The shrine's name 'Hieizan' literally translates to 'Sea God Peak'. It is one of Japan's most sacred Shinto shrines, famous for its stunning architecture and beautiful gardens.
