Located in Osaka, Shitennō-ji Temple is one of Japan's oldest Buddhist temples and has a long history dating back to the Nara period (710-794 CE). The temple complex includes the famous Great Hall and numerous shrines dedicated to various kami. While not exclusively a Shinto shrine, it holds significant cultural and historical value for both Shinto and Buddhist traditions. The nearby Tenjin Shrine honors the deity Susanoo-no-kami, often associated with storms and fertility.

Cultural notes
