厳島神社

厳島神社 is a Shinto shrine located in Eniwa, Chiba Prefecture. The shrine is dedicated to the sea god Ryujin and also enshrines the goddess Amaterasu's grandson, Ōkuninushi, and the kami of the sea and the fish. Its architecture is a mix of traditional Japanese styles, including the iconic torii gate and a vermilion-painted honden, reflecting its rich history dating back to the Heian period (794-1185). The shrine is famous for its annual festivals, particularly the Eniwa Matsuri, which takes place in May and features traditional dances, music, and food.
