Located in the Niigata Prefecture,諏訪神社 is one of Japan's oldest shrines, dating back to the Jomon period (14th century BC). The shrine was originally dedicated to the water spirit kami, Fujisan no Kami, associated with Mount Fuji. Over time, it came to be enshrined with the local deity, Kami Utsusemi, who is revered as a guardian of the Niigata region. Today,諏訪神社 remains an important cultural and historical site in Japan.
