Cultural notes
Katsunokami Shrine is associated with the legend of the Japanese scholar and poet, Sugawara no Michiie, who was said to have sought the god's guidance before his death. The shrine also hosts an annual Cherry Blossom Viewing Festival in spring and a Summer Festival with traditional dances and games.
