Cultural notes

Taketogitsu Shrine is known for its unique Shinto traditions and festivals, including the annual Taketogo no Okami-matsuri festival, which honors the deity of the sunken island. The shrine's torii gate is adorned with a bronze bell, said to have been cast from a bell that sank with the island.
