Love Shrine is a Shinto shrine in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, dedicated to Susanoo, the storm god and a major deity of the Japanese pantheon. Visitor tip
To increase your chances of matchmaking at Love Shrine, visit on February 14th, the day before Valentine's Day, and write down a wish on a 'tsutsumi' (a paper ring with a prayer), then toss it into the shrine's torii gate.
Cultural notes
Love Shrine is known for its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture. The shrine is also famous for its 'tsukimi' (moon viewing) festivals, which take place in January and February, where devotees gather to admire the full moon and make wishes.
