Ido Shrine, located in Nai Town, Okayama Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the water spirit, Kami of Wells, and the protector of wells and springs. The shrine is renowned for its historic well that dates back to the Edo period, used as a source of fresh water during wars when the town was occupied by enemy forces. Today, visitors can still see the original wooden beam supporting the well's stone lid.
