Hakusan Shrine, located in the foothills of Mount Hakusan in Chiba Prefecture, is one of Japan's oldest Shinto shrines. Dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu, it is also enshrined with the Shinto god Hachiman, who is revered as a protector of merchants and travelers.
