Located in the town of Hitachi in Ibaraki Prefecture, Hakusan Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the mountain god (yamabushi) and the deity of the sacred mountain Aomori Yari. The shrine's name, Hakusan, translates to White Mountain Sanctuary, reflecting its association with the snowy peak of Mount Haku. Built in 1862, the current structure is a reconstruction of an earlier shrine that was destroyed during the Edo period.
