Haiheishi Jinja is a Shinto shrine located in the coastal town of Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture. The shrine is dedicated to Haiheishi Shinnyo, a kami associated with fishermen and the sea. According to local legend, the shrine was built on the site where the kami appeared to a fisherman, offering to guide him to safe waters. The shrine's architecture reflects its coastal location, with a distinctive tatami-mat covered veranda and a wooden torii gate. Visitors can experience the shrine's spiritual energy by participating in the annual Haiheishi Matsuri festival, which celebrates the arrival of autumn. During the festival, visitors can try traditional seafood dishes and participate in the shrine's traditional dances.
