Ashigara Shrine

Located in the city of Minamiashigarashima, Gunma Prefecture is not the location. Gunma was not the location either. Ashigara Shrine is situated in the town of Ashigawa, in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The shrine is dedicated to Okuninushi no Kami, a Shinto deity associated with agriculture and fertility. In Japanese history, it played an important role during the Edo period as a shrine where samurai would pray for victory before battle.
