Suwa Shrine

Dedicated to Takeminakata-no-Mikoto, a powerful kami of war, hunting, and agriculture from Japanese mythology, this shrine serves as a spiritual center where worshippers seek protection, victory in endeavors, and bountiful harvests. As part of the extensive Suwa shrine network that originated from the famous Suwa Taisha in Nagano, it maintains the ancient traditions of honoring this fierce deity who was said to have retreated to Lake Suwa after being defeated by the heavenly kami.
