Suwa Shrine, located in Osaka Prefecture, is one of Japan's oldest Shinto shrines, with a history dating back to the 7th century. Dedicated to the kami of the Suwa River and its surrounding mountains, the shrine is believed to have been established during the Asuka period (645-710 CE). The shrine's architecture reflects its Nara-period origins, with a large torii gate and a five-story pagoda.
