Akizuki Shrine is located in Nagata, Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture, and is one of the most famous Shinto shrines dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami. The shrine was built in 1693 by Tokugawa Iemasa during the Edo period, and it features a unique three-storied pagoda that is said to have been built without nails.
