八幡神社

Shizuoka

The Eightfold Temple Shrine, located in the Japanese prefecture of Shizuoka, is dedicated to Fūjin, the god of wind and storms, and byo Haguro, the spirit of purification. The shrine's name is derived from the eight petals of a cherry blossom tree that symbolize the virtues of good fortune, happiness, and longevity. Visitors can experience the unique ' wind tunnel' effect created by the shrine's design, where wind blows from one side of the torii gate, while passing through from the other. Traditional Japanese architecture, such as the 'tatami-mat' floor, can be seen within the shrine's main hall.
