Located in Gunma Prefecture, Asahi-machi Jinja Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity Susanoo-no-Mikoto, also known as Amaterasu’s brother. The shrine is famous for its beautiful garden and traditional architecture. The shrine complex features a large torii gate and several small shrines dedicated to various kami. 文化的背景

Asahi-machi Jinja Shrine is associated with the legend of Susanoo-no-Mikoto's love affair with a local woman. According to myth, the god was banished by his sister Amaterasu, but later returned to punish those who wronged him. The shrine also hosts an annual festival in July to celebrate the deity's return.

歴史

The shrine was established during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) as a minor shrine, but it gained prominence in the Edo period (1603-1867 CE).
