Located in the city of Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, White Sand Shrine (Shirogane Jinja) is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Tsukuyomi-no-Kami, the moon god. The shrine's white sand-covered ground is said to have been created from the ashes of a sacred fire that burned on the site for centuries.
