Kumano Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Kumano, a valley region of western Japan, and not Kyoto. While the shrine shares the same name, they are separate entities. The original shrine was built in 725 CE at Hiraizumi in Iwate Prefecture, but a replica was constructed at Kumano in 1875.
