豊隆神社

岩手県 · 一関市

Toyomizu Shrine in Iwate Prefecture is dedicated to the goddess of fertility and prosperity, Toyomizu Hime, who is believed to have healed the local area after a devastating flood. The shrine's current structure dates back to 1874, but it is built on the site of an earlier temple that was established during the Edo period. As one of the few shrines in Japan that still maintains its original kamidana (main shrine building), Toyomizu Shrine offers a glimpse into traditional Shinto architecture.
