Chūbajinja Shrine in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture is dedicated to the storm god Susanoo and his consort, Amaterasu's sister, Kamaya-no-mayuri-hime. The shrine is famous for its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture. According to local legend, Susanoo used the shrine as a hideout after being banished by his brother, Amaterasu.
