Three Islands Shrine is dedicated to the kami of the three islands that form Lake Chuzenji, a popular pilgrimage site in the Nikko National Park. The shrine's primary deity is Ryūjin, the dragon god of the sea and water. Shoppers from across Japan come to purchase talismans for fertility and prosperity. Visitors are advised to fill their shoes with a small stone or coin for good luck before making an offering.
