Located in the scenic town of Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, Utsunomiya Sanzan's Shinge-ji is a lesser-known but equally impressive shrine. Dedicated to Shige no Mikoto, a legendary Shinto deity, it was originally constructed during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) and rebuilt in 1994 after a major earthquake. As one of the three main shrines in Utsunomiya Sanzan, this site is revered for its historic significance and unique architectural style.
