Shizuoka

Located in the city of Ena, Shizuoka Prefecture, Godai Jingū is one of Japan's oldest shrines dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu. Built in 718 CE during the Nara period, it features a unique blend of Heian and Kamakura architectural styles. The shrine's main hall, the honden, is adorned with a vermilion torii gate, while its famous Five-Story Pagoda dates back to the 17th century.
