Located in the city of Matsue in Shimane Prefecture, Eight Horses Shrine is one of the most famous Shinto shrines dedicated to the god of fortune and prosperity, Fujin. Dedicated to the mythical storm god and god of wind, the shrine complex includes a five-story pagoda and a grand torii gate. It is said that the shrine was established in 744 AD by Prince Nagaya no Chihiro, who was tasked with creating a shrine to honor the gods after his own death.

文化的背景
Eight Horses Shrine has historical connections to the Matsue region's connection with the mythical Eight Horses of Taisho, eight fierce horses said to have been sent by the storm god Fujin to drive away evil. The shrine complex also hosts a grand festival every year in late July.
