The Kiso-dera Hoshinjinsha Treasure Hall Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in the Japanese prefecture of Nagano. Dedicated to the treasures and relics of the ancient Buddhist temple that once stood on the site, it was originally known as the 'Treasure House Shrine' (Toshogu-sha), before taking its current name. In 1621, Lord Hachiman was invited by the shrine's priest to pray for safety during a conflict in the Kiso valley, and thus the primary enshrined deity became the god of war and victory. The shrine is notable for its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture.
