日枝神社

Day枝 Shrine, located in the town of Tokorozawa in Saitama Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the kami Ryūjin, god of the sea and storms, as well as the wind, and also honors Fujin, the god of wind. The shrine's architecture reflects its historical significance as a major center for the production of high-quality rice paper during the Edo period.

To avoid waiting in line, visitors can join the shorter morning or afternoon queue by arriving early and using the designated 'express' lane for those with a special permit (called a 'hajiumi').

At Day枝 Shrine, locals celebrate the annual 'Wind Festival' (Fūjin Matsuri) in June to pray for good weather and bountiful harvests. During this festival, visitors can watch traditional wind dances performed by the shrine's priestesses.
