Located in the city of Ichihara, Ibaraki Prefecture, Eight Kings Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the worship of the 'Hachi no Kokoro' or 'Eight Hearts' deity, believed to be the enshrined spirit of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, a legendary samurai and military leader during the Kamakura period. The shrine is famous for its beautiful garden and traditional architecture.

歴史

The shrine was built in 1185 by Minamoto no Yoshitsune's mother, Lady Masako, to honor her son's memory after his death at the Battle of Dan-no-ura.
