Person MARU Jinja, located in the city of Kobe in Hyogo Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deities of the sea and fertility. Its history dates back to the Heian period (794-1185), during which it was a minor shrine serving the local fishermen and farmers. Over time, it gained prominence as a major shrine for the worship of Person MARU Okami, a powerful kami believed to control the ocean's bounty.
