大嶽神社, located in Kannon-ji, Tsu-no-miya, Sado Island, was originally an Shinto shrine dedicated to a deity from the mythical land of Mikasa, on the Japanese island of Hokkaido. The current shrine is built in Edo period style, with a traditional torii gate and a square-shaped main hall, Haiden. The shrine has been rebuilt several times due to natural disasters, with the current structure dating back to 1867.
