Located in the mountains of Toyama Prefecture, Eight Horseshoe Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of agriculture and fertility, Hachiman-gami, as well as several other kami including the Shinto equivalent of Saint George, Kusunoki-maru. Built on the site where the original shrine was destroyed during the Bungo War in 1582, the current structure is a mix of traditional and modern architecture.
