島頭天満宮

Located on the western coast of Awaji Island in Osaka Prefecture, Shitose Tenmangu Shrine is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, a revered Shinto deity and former Chancellor of Japan. The shrine is famous for its beautiful vermilion torii gate and traditional wooden buildings. According to legend, Michizane was instrumental in unifying the warring states of Japan during the Heian period.
