Located in the historic district of Shinjuku, Ōmotesando, Ueno-sō, also known as Ueno-mae Hachiman-gū, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Hachiman, the god of war and patron of scholars. The current main hall was built in 1892, but the shrine's history dates back to 1606. This shrine is believed to be an important location for the worship of Hachiman during the Edo period.
