Located in the town of Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, Kotakai no Asanuma-zuka is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of volcanoes and natural disasters. The shrine's name reflects its location near Mount Asama, which erupted several times during the 17th century. As a result, many people lost their lives, and the shrine was built as a memorial for those who perished. Visitors can see a large stone monument commemorating the victims of the volcano's eruptions.
