Nagano

Located in the town of Agemochi, Shingen Shrine is one of Japan's most famous shrines dedicated to a god of thunder known as Raijin, but also has kami enshrined such as Inari Okami and Shinto Kami called Shigenami Hiko. It was originally built in 767 AD during the Nara period and rebuilt several times after that. The shrine is nestled at the foot of Mount Kamikochi and offers a serene escape from bustling city life.
