Oosakamoto-oji

This shrine serves as one of the important oji (subsidiary shrines) along the sacred Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes in Wakayama Prefecture. Pilgrims traditionally stop here to pray for protection and safe passage during their spiritual journey to the Kumano Sanzan, the three grand shrines of Kumano.
