Hiyoshi-jinja Shrine

Enshrines the protective mountain deities of the Hiyoshi tradition, originally brought from the famous Hiyoshi Taisha near Kyoto to serve as guardians of the local community in Wakayama. Worshippers come to pray for protection from misfortune, success in business ventures, and safe travels, as the Hiyoshi kami are particularly revered for their power to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune. The shrine maintains the classical Hiyoshi tradition of venerating Ōyamakui-no-kami and related mountain spirits who are believed to watch over both the natural landscape and human endeavors.
