笠山神社

Shiga

Sagamiko Shrine, located in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu, but its counterpart in the Sagami region is Hachiman kami, who watches over fishermen and travelers. This shrine is believed to be founded during the Sengoku period.

文化的背景

歴史

The shrine was relocated from its original site at the northern end of Sagamiko Lake to its current location in 1890, after a typhoon destroyed the old structure.
